John and Linda DeTerlizzi are the founders of Finger Lakes Backwater Marine. John is a native Central New Yorker, with more than 30 years of waterfowl hunting and boating experience. Linda, the daughter of an avid outdoorsman, grew up in Western Pennsylvania. Her family spent many days hunting and fishing on Lake Erie and the Pymatuning Lake Region.
John cut his teeth hunting Ducks and Geese in the fields off Cayuga Lake and in the backwaters of Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region of the Atlantic Flyway.
John’s resume of hunting and boating experiences has also taken him to the Mississippi River pools in Wisconsin, lakes, rivers and flooded timber in North and South Central Illinois, the grain fields of Kansas, the green timber of Arkansas and the potholes of North Dakota along the Central Flyway.
